由鬼才倪匡編劇，將《西遊記》中紅孩兒大戰孫悟空的情節活現銀幕。導演張徹處理文學巨著的手法相當老練，既保留了原著神髓，亦細緻安排各武打場面。故事講述牛魔王與鐵扇公主夫婦為吃唐僧肉，命兒子紅孩兒（丁華寵）對付孫悟空（劉中群）師徒。紅孩兒憑「三昧真火」屢挫悟空，後幸得觀音命龍女（張傳麗）協助悟空救回唐僧等人，更將紅孩兒點化，收其為觀音身邊的善才童子。此片弘揚回頭是岸的大道理，發人深省。。Sheriff Sean Kilpatrick is a pacifist. Frank Brand is the leader of a band of killers. When their paths cross Kilpatrick is compelled to go against everything he has stood for to bring death to Brand and his gang. Through his hunt into Mexico he is challenged by a noble Mexican Sheriff interested only in carrying out the law - not vengeance.。
