《神探可伦坡》第十二季共由以下三部组成： 1、It's All in the Game：由主演Peter Falk亲自编剧，并指定Faye Dunaway出演与其对决的女嫌疑人； 2、Butterfly in Shades of Grey：曾在NBC版第六季之Fade in to Murder出演凶手的William Shatner再度回归出演凶手，本集编剧Peter S. Fischer后为CBS推理剧《女作家与谋杀案》前七季担任执行制片人； 3、Undercover：本集与1992年的No Time to Die同样改编自Ed McBain的惊险小说，是又一次试图打破固有模式的尝试。。A strange man comes into a house with only the wife. He says he'll leave after a shower and a meal, but his actions are exactly like the husband's. What has happened? He says that he learned everything from a friend he knows... A woman who is taking rice cakes around is held hostage with the wife. The man gets drunk and reveals the truth about her husband. The wife feels more scared about her husband now... Ji-min returns home and is angry and appeals that he is not a friend that he knows. He wants to kill the strange man...。张伟（罗乐林饰）和张国星（钱小豪饰）是亲兄弟，其中张伟在警队任职。张国星与何力华（戴志伟饰）合作协助湖南帮分销贼赃，但最终被张伟捉住，兄弟之间反目成仇。为了保护自己，张国星和何力华被迫为警方提供情报，成为线人对付湖南帮的邦哥。星和力华被迫参与翻版录像带的制作，却在警方行动中被捕。 张伟得知这一切后，劝告张国星停止行动，但星无法自拔。在这个过程中，星向恋人方思敏倾诉内心的矛盾和恐惧。随着邦哥被捕，湖南帮的局势变得更加复杂。帮哥出狱后，查出是张国星和何力华出卖了他，导致力华被杀。为了报仇，张国星决定亲手杀死邦哥，但情势危急。在紧急关头，张伟冒着生命危险相救，才使得张国星免于一死。两兄弟在生死关头，前嫌尽释，可能重新团结。然而，为了破案，张国星自愿成为卧底，深入湖南帮，却被帮派头目瑛姐识破身份，使得他的生命陷入危险。。
