传说每年农历七月半前后，死去的孤魂野鬼都会游走人间，去他们生前熟悉的地方，唤起尘封已久的孤魂孽怨。大一新生安澜（余心恬 饰）与室友一同入住了一间尘封多年、死过人且闹过鬼的宿舍314房间后，诡异事件就接二连三的发生，中元节后这几位青春靓丽的女大学生开始遭受着无孔不入的惊吓，甚至开始一个个离奇而恐怖地死去，安澜在找寻谜底时才发现，始终逃不开鬼节“七月半”的宿命。。MOTHER TONGUE (母语) is a portrait of a Chinese American family in which the consequences of a mother’s decision to leave her young daughter in the care of a white American “homestay” family are slowly unearthed over the course of a family dinner.
