Centers on the Kilcher family and their community outside Homer, Alaska. Led by patriarch Atz Kilcher, singer Jewel's father, the family have lived on their land for three generations. The show also focuses on the homesteaders who live by the Kilchers, including, Brother Roadkill, who eats animals lying dead on the side of the road.。一年一度的春节即将到来，人们都陷入了一片欢快的节庆气氛之中。孤身一人在外的光头强（谭笑 配音）也想回家过年，只是李老板（张伟 配音）还拖欠着他的工资，光头强还期盼着能够用这笔钱给在老家的父母置办一点年货。最终，光头强找到了一份护林员的工作，和动物们一起保护森林的安全。 可是，李老板似乎是诚心要给光头强找麻烦，他派出了伐木机器人来到光头强守护的树林里大肆开采。为了履行自己的职责，光头强和熊大（张伟 配音）、熊二（张秉君 配音）、毛毛（孙尧东 配音）、涂涂（万丹青 配音）等可爱的动物们一起和李老板抗争到底。。
